Then tai chi classes could be the answer  Master Li Wong teaches tai chi at the Caulfield Recreation Centre every Friday at 11.30am. Caulfield Recreation Centre is conveniently located at 6 Maple Street, Caulfield South There is lots of parking available along with easy access via public transport.

Tai chi classes run throughout the year and you can join at any time. This means you can start straight away and not wait weeks until a new term starts.

The cost is only $20 per class. What’s even better, is that you can join in with other tai chi classes held during the week at NO additional cost. This includes tai chi classes held in Bayswater, Brighton and Kew. It is also includes Saturday afternoon tai classes held at 2.30pm at Alexandra Gardens at 70 Cotham Road in Kew (next to the Kew Library.

What to expect when you join our Tai Chi classes in Caulfield

Master Li Wong takes pride in having a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the tai chi classes he holds in the Eastern and Bayside suburbs of Melbourne. This includes the tai chi classes he teaches in Caulfield. No special clothing is required – just turn up in loose comfortable clothing. Also, no prior knowledge of tai chi is required. 

Most of the tai chi classes Master Li Wong teaches have students at all levels – ie from beginners to advanced.  Each class starts with all students doing the First Form of Tai Chi. The First Form is great for your lungs and is a relaxing form. This form is also the foundation for learning other forms. 

Once the First Form of tai chi is completed, students work in different groups according to their specific level. Many forms of tai chi are taught by Master Li Wong, so you can learn what you are interested in. This includes weapons like the fan and sword forms.

When you start tai chi classes in Caulfield by Master Li Wong you  you will be  taught a traditional and authentic form of tai chi. This is because Master Li Wong was born into a family who have been involved in teaching tai chi for multiple generations. He is also a qualified Traditional Chinese Medical Practitioner. Because of this, Master Li Wong’s tai chi is not just an exercise but a means to heal the body.

At a very young age Master Li Wong started training with one of the most famous Wu Tang Tai Chi Masters, Mr Fu Zhen Song. After Master Fu passed away Master Li Wong continued to train under Master Fu’s son, Fu Wing Fai, and his foremost disciple, Wung Hung. At this time master Wong also trained at the Quang-Chou Wu-Shu Academy in China.

After arriving in Melbourne over 30 years ago, he began teaching tai chi classes all over Melbourne – including Kew. He has a lot of loyal students who have been with him for many years learning the different forms of tai chi.

Master Li Wong considers it a privilege to continue the family tradition by teaching Tai Chi. He has a particular passion for introducing new students to the benefits of tai chi and how this gentle form of exercise can bring back balance to life.
